Walking Equipment

Postby MightyMastiff » Mon May 31, 2010 5:51 pm

Hi

I was wondering what equipment you use for walking your mastiffs?

My boy is 10 months and i currently use a harness but have been advised to use a Dogmatic Head Collar as the next step.

Should i use a choke or has anyone used the dogmatic range?

When would you say the best time to buy a collar is? Ive been through a couple already so dont want to keep having to re-buy.

Thanks

Luke

Hi Luke, me again..... I really have to find something else to do  . I only use a collar and lead now, but I started with gentle leader. I taught albert to walk on loose lead, only allowing him to walk beside me on my left. Now, 6 months later, he happily plods along beside me. I had to be really strict though as I walk him with the buggy and cant afford any pulling or running rings around me.

I have only ever used collars and leads except for with one! He is my OH's dog and is a total fruit loop!! OH can walk him on collar and lead but I bought a dogmatic headcollar for when I am walking alone and it is the best purchase I ever made!!! I can literally walk him on my little finger on it, there is no pulling he is fab.

i use a dog matic on mine and i'm very happy with it, although during a recent trip to the vet Bear pulled one way, hubby pulled the other and the dog matic came off! you still need a collar with this!

This is what we use great for walking / home wear or showing and I cant recommend them highly enough. Also buy shrudely on the size and you can have many inches of adjustment.
